India and The Polytechnique Montréal at the Polytechnique Montréal campus

The DHC was invited by The Polytechnique Montréal to speak to a group of students in the afternoon of November 15th. The group of 24 engineering students will be visiting India for three weeks in May 2018 as part of its Polymonde programme. The Polytechnique Montréal is an engineering school/faculty affiliated with the Université de Montréal in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The students will undertake a comparative analysis of Indian and Canadian companies in the information and communication technologies, food and agriculture, and biomedical and pharmaceutical sectors during their tour. It will be the first time that these students are visiting India.

The DHC was welcomed to the Polytechnique Montréal by Ms.Line Dube, the head of the international relations department at the Polytechnique. Ms.Line Dube introduced the DHC to Polytechnique Montréal and spoke about Polymonde, the special international programme that introduces students to companies in other countries. The aim of the program is to prepare graduating engineers for a globalized world. Polymonde had previously visited India in 2007, and the success of that visit motivated the organizers of Polymonde to plan another visit. The DHC spoke to the students about the academic and business environment in India. He also gave them ideas of industries to visit. The students gained many ideas and insights from the DHC, and are much better prepared for their trip to India as a result of his visit.
