An all women team of Capt. Aarohi Pandit and Capt. Keithair Misquitta, two young female pilots from Mumbai, India in their twenties are attempting the world’s first circumnavigation of the planet in a tiny sport aircraft. The expedition is in collaboration with the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India and the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” (Save the girl child, educate the girl child) campaign.

They left Patiala, India on July 30, 2018 and have so far flown over Pakistan, Iran, Turkey, Serbia, Slovenia, Germany, France, UL and Iceland in 25 legs covering 7000 NM in 40 days. The expedition is called WE! Women Empower (wefly.org.in), and for every mile flown on the 20000 NM journey the duo are hoping to raise Rs. 1000/- (Approx. C$ 20.00) to fund the WE! Udaan scholarship for aviation training to girls from middle class families in India.
