H.E. Mr. MANISH

Acting High Commissioner of India to Canada

Mr. Manish is a career diplomat. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1997. He has worked in various capacities in several Indian Missions and Posts abroad such as Moscow, Tashkent, Prague, Colombo and Jakarta. He has handled both bilateral and multilateral relationships and has rich experience of handling different aspects of diplomatic relationships such as political, cultural, commercial & economic and press and information, etc.

At the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi he headed the Division responsible for managing bilateral relationship with ASEAN countries, Pacific Island countries, Australia & New Zealand and issues relating to the setting up of Nalanda University.

Before becoming Consul General of India in Vancouver in August 2020, he headed the Overseas Indian Affairs Division of the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi.

Mr. Manish is officiating as the Acting High Commissioner of India to Canada since 14th September 2022.

Born on 24 June 1969, Manish has degrees of Bachelors of Science (Honours) and Bachelors of Law. Mr. Manish is married to Preeti and they have a son together.

Mr. Anshuman Gaur

Acting High Commissioner of India to Canada

Mr. Anshuman Gaur was born in Patna (India) and Graduated with Honours from Patna Science College in 1995. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 2001. He has since served in various capacities in the Indian Embassies at Paris and Nepal and with the Permanent Delegation of India to UNESCO, Paris. At headquarters he has served on Bhutan Desk, as Officer on Special Duty in the External Publicity Division and as Director looking after western European Affairs. He also served as Officer on Special duty to the Vice President of India and as Private Secretary to the Law Minister of India. He speaks English, Hindi and French.

He is married to Ms. Apoorva Srivastava, presently the Consul General of India in Toronto. They have two daughters.

An avid cricket enthusiast, Mr. Gaur was a featured writer for Word Weavers in 2017. His collection of poems, ‘Isthmus of Time’ was published in 2017.
